Note: You must enable contact sync in iCloud. To check and do so, open Settings → tap your profile → go to iCloud → toggle on Contacts.

All you have to do is drag the contact from ‘All Contacts‘ and drop it in the new group you made. You can delete the group or a specific contact easily. Here’s how;
